I. Engineering Research Center of Marine Materials and Protection Technology, Ministry of Education
The Engineering Research Center of Marine Materials and Protection Technology, Ministry of Education (Engineering Research Center of Marine Materials and Protection Technology, Ministry of Education) was approved for construction by the Ministry of Education in 2006 (Letter of Technology of the Ministry of Education [2006] No. 30). It mainly conducts research and development work on special materials and marine protection technologies in the marine environment.
The main research and development directions are:
1.Research on the preparation technology of marine special materials.
2.Research on the corrosion resistance protection mechanism of marine materials, the mechanism of resistance to marine microorganism attachment, and the research and development of attachment-resistant materials.
3.Research on new concept marine materials.
II. Shandong Provincial Engineering Research Center of Special Materials for Marine Equipment
The Shandong Provincial Engineering Research Center of Special Materials for Marine Equipment was approved for construction by the Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission in 2022. Focusing on the field of special materials for marine equipment, it has formed four advantageous and characteristic directions: research, development and application of steel materials for high-end marine equipment, wear- and corrosion-resistant materials in extreme environments and additive manufacturing, marine protection materials and technologies, and marine energy storage and conversion materials.
III. Qingdao Engineering Research Center of Special Materials for Marine Equipment
The Qingdao Engineering Research Center of Special Materials for Marine Equipment was approved for construction by the Qingdao Development and Reform Commission in 2021. Focusing on the major national needs and the development needs of the marine economy, and in line with the priority development directions in the Implementation Plan of the Major Project for the Transformation of New and Old Kinetic Energy in Shandong Province, the engineering research center highlights its characteristic research directions, develops key common technologies for materials of marine engineering equipment, realizes technology transfer, conducts engineering technology verification and consultation, and builds a research and development platform integrating the development of materials for marine engineering equipment, the cultivation of high-level talents, and enterprise consultation and services. Mainly aiming at the current situation of the research, production and application of domestic marine engineering equipment, it conducts research on the corrosion fatigue mechanism and failure behavior of high-strength steel for deep-sea equipment based on theoretical foundations, and studies the corrosion and wear mechanisms of marine engineering components. In terms of engineering applications, it is committed to developing special high-strength steel for deep-sea equipment, new wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials, buoyancy materials, energy and environmental materials, and coating technologies.
IV. Qingdao Key Laboratory of Materials in Marine Extreme Environments
The Qingdao Key Laboratory of Materials in Marine Extreme Environments was approved for construction by the Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau in 2022. According to the development needs of materials in marine extreme environments, combined with the three research directions of special steel materials for marine engineering equipment and additive manufacturing technology, functional protection materials for marine extreme environments, and key materials for power storage and conversion in marine extreme environments, the laboratory closely tracks and grasps the development trends of domestic and foreign industry technologies, and forms a number of scientific and technological achievements with independent intellectual property rights and good market prospects. A highly efficient project research and development responsibility system is established and improved, and a research and development and operation mechanism with a virtuous cycle of technology, market and talents is gradually formed. The combination of production, education and research is strengthened, and the laboratory continues to develop and grow in the competition.
