Recently, Stanford University and the international authoritative academic publisher Elsevier jointly released the list of the world's top 2% of scientists for 2025. Eleven teachers from the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Ocean University of China were selected, highlighting the college's academic strength and international influence in the global field of materials science.
This list is divided into the Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking List and the Annual Scientific Influence Ranking List. Four teachers, Cui Hongzhi, Wang Huanlei, He Benlin and Chen Shougang, have been selected for the Lifetime Scientific Influence list Eleven teachers, namely Cui Hongzhi, Wang Huanlei, Cui Zhongyu, Li Leigang, Wu Jingyi, Hou Chunchao, Chen Jingwei, Man Cheng, Shi Zhicheng, Chen Shougang and He Benlin, were selected for the 2025 Scientific Influence list.
The number of students selected by the college in the two lists has maintained a good trend continuously, reflecting the achievements of the college in talent team building, discipline construction and other aspects. Next, the college will aim to build a first-class materials discipline with distinctive features, guided by national strategic demands, strengthen team building, encourage cross-disciplinary innovation, and cultivate high-level talents with international competitiveness.
