This award-winning project focuses on the failure of protective coatings for equipment materials under harsh environments. By leveraging the excellent electromagnetic and physical barrier properties of two-dimensional materials, it proposes a new strategy for optimizing the surface and interface structure of two-dimensional materials, establishes a new technology for multi-functional coupling of special protective coatings, and develops a series of two-dimensional material-enhanced functional coatings. The project has been granted 32 invention patents (including 1 US patent), formulated 1 industry standard, published over 60 SCI and EI papers, and trained over 100 doctoral and master's students. It has been widely applied in aircraft, ships, high-speed rail and other equipment. The main cooperating units of this award include Ocean Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shandong University, CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., and Shandong Guikang New Materials Co., Ltd.

Professor Chen Shougang Receives the Certificate

Professor Chen Shougang's team has been dedicated to the research of marine engineering special materials and their protection technologies for many years. They have conducted systematic studies in areas such as strong coupling corrosion of materials and microorganisms, special functional self-healing anti-corrosion coatings, photoelectrocatalytic anti-fouling materials, and environmental biocidal antibacterial materials. They have successively presided over more than 10 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's joint fund and general projects, and have participated in 5 major scientific and technological innovation projects and major basic research projects in Shandong Province. They have published over 300 SCI papers in domestic and international academic journals such as Angew Chemie, Advanced Functional Materials, Nano Energy, Applied Catalysis B, Corrosion Science, and Nano Today as the first author and corresponding author. They have also published 3 academic monographs and obtained over 30 national invention patents. As the first contributor, they have won the First Prize of Innovation Achievements of the State Oceanic Administration, the Second Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Qingdao City, and the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the First Shandong Province Military-Civilian Integration.
