The 2025 National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) has just concluded. Seizing this critical post-exam window, the School of Materials Science and Engineering proactively organized intensive enrollment promotion and consultation activities. From June 25 to 30, the school’s admission team visited key high schools across Henan Province and cities such as Jiaozhou and Pingdu in Shandong, conducting nearly 30 admission presentations and on-site consultation sessions. These efforts drove enrollment promotion into deeper implementation, effectively attracting high-quality students to inject new vitality into the development of both the university and the school.
This campaign covered 15 cities across Henan and Shandong provinces, establishing a proactive and precisely targeted model for university enrollment services. On June 26 and 28, Party Secretary Du Junhua led a delegation to Pingdu No.1 High School and Jiaozhou No.1 High School in Shandong, offering face-to-face interpretations of admission policies while detailing the university’s educational strengths and talent cultivation achievements. From June 25 to 29, teams consisting of vice deans, department chairs, Party branch secretaries, professor representatives, and young core teachers traveled to over ten cities in Henan including Zhengzhou, Nanyang, Pingdingshan, Shangqiu, Luohe, Sanmenxia, Xuchang, Anyang, Xinxiang, Hebi, Zhoukou, and Zhumadian. They participated in local college admission fairs, providing on-site Q&A services that garnered extensive attention and enthusiastic responses.

The consultation venues were bustling with activity as crowds of students and parents actively inquired about key topics including the university’s profile, academic programs, curriculum structure, research platforms, career prospects, historical admission scores, and Sino-foreign joint programs. Faculty members provided meticulous explanations—covering talent-development models, discipline pathways, subject requirements, and application strategies—to offer tailored guidance for students’ academic planning. Many parents expressed that face-to-face interactions deepened their understanding of the university and strengthened their children’s confidence in applying.
The period between Gaokao and application submission represents a golden window for school selection. The school prioritizes enrollment promotion as a key measure to implement the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education and enhance student recruitment quality. Through frontline precision outreach, the campaign not only improved the effectiveness of enrollment efforts but also elevated the societal visibility of both the university and school.

Beyond in-person consultations, admission leaders and program advisors actively expanded online promotion and consultation. They hosted livestreamed lectures via Da Xiang News and conducted Q&A sessions through the Gaokao Q&A Platform, broadening information channels to achieve online-offline synergy and comprehensively meet diverse information needs.
Moving forward, the School of Materials Science and Engineering will strengthen communication with provincial admission agencies and key high schools. It will coordinate multi-level, multi-format promotion services to enhance outreach precision, guiding more outstanding students to Ocean University of China and cultivating top innovators for national sci-tech advancement and maritime power development.
