On April 16, the School of Materials Science and Engineering held a faculty and staff assembly. The meeting was chaired by Party Secretary Dujunhua.

At the meeting, Dujunhua led all faculty and staff in studying the key takeaways from China’s “Two Sessions” and the 2026 National Education Work Conference, and conducted a session on professional ethics and disciplinary awareness. She emphasized that 2026 marks the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, a critical starting point that will shape development over the next five years. She called for a results-oriented approach characterized by determination, innovation, and a focus on quality and efficiency. Stressing that the School’s development requires the participation of all, she noted that every faculty member is a contributor, builder, and beneficiary, and urged all staff to work in unity to ensure the successful completion of annual goals and to advance high-quality development.

Dean Cui Hongzhi conveyed the key points from the University’s new semester work deployment meeting. She reviewed the School’s achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, introduced the strategic framework for the 15th Five-Year Plan, and outlined major tasks for 2026. She emphasized that faculty and staff should align their individual development plans with the School’s priorities and national strategies, seize development opportunities, and promote deeper interdisciplinary integration. Efforts should focus on key areas including Party leadership, faculty development, talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and disciplinary advancement, ensuring a strong start to the new planning cycle.

Members of the School leadership team also delivered briefings within their respective areas of responsibility, covering topics such as discipline development, engineering accreditation, curriculum development, student recruitment and outreach, graduate education, research funding management, industry–university–research collaboration, and campus safety and stability.
All faculty and staff of the School attended the meeting.
