Recently, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education announced the list of approved projects for the 2025 Provincial Graduate Education Quality Resource Programs. The School of Materials Science and Engineering achieved notable success with three selected projects.



Among them, the graduate course “Marine Equipment Materials,” led by Dean Cui Hongzhi, was recognized as a Shandong Provincial High-Quality Graduate Course (one of only two selected university-wide). The Ocean University of China – Ningbo Branch of China Academy of Ordnance Science Excellence Engineer Education Practice Base was approved as a Provincial Excellence Engineer Education Practice Base (the only one selected university-wide). In addition, the teaching case repository “Principles and Applications of Electrochemistry,” led by Associate Professor Chen Jingwei, was included in the Shandong Provincial High-Quality Professional Degree Teaching Case Repository (one of eleven selected university-wide).
The selection of these three projects reflects the School’s sustained efforts in advancing graduate education reform, strengthening the integration of industry and education, and promoting the synergy between scientific research and teaching. It also highlights the School’s strong foundation and distinctive strengths in cultivating high-level talent in the field of marine materials.
Committed to supporting the national strategy of building China into a maritime power, the School will take this opportunity to further refine high-quality courses, deepen university–industry collaborative education mechanisms, and enrich the practical content of teaching case repositories. By leveraging the demonstrative and leading role of provincial-level high-quality education resources, the School will continue to enhance the quality of graduate education and talent cultivation.
