Recently, the winners of the 10th Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards (Higher Education) were officially announced. The School of Materials Science and Engineering achieved outstanding results with two award-winning projects led by Dean Cui Hongzhi as the principal contributor.
The project titled “Exploration and Practice of a ‘Three-Chain Integration’ Talent Cultivation Model for Marine Materials in Support of National Ocean Strategy” was awarded the Grand Prize (graduate education category), while “Innovation and Practice in Materials Talent Cultivation Oriented toward National Ocean Strategy and Based on the Integration of Science and Education” received the First Prize (undergraduate education category). These honors highlight the School’s solid progress in aligning with national strategic priorities and advancing educational and teaching reforms.
The Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards (Higher Education) represent one of the highest honors in the province’s education sector. Presented every four years, the awards recognize individuals and teams that have made outstanding contributions to educational reform and innovation, with the aim of promoting high-quality development in higher education.
Both award-winning projects closely align with the national strategy of building China into a maritime power. They establish distinctive and innovative talent cultivation systems, and through systematic educational reforms, significantly enhance students’ innovation capacity and practical skills. These initiatives provide effective pathways for training high-level professionals urgently needed in the field of marine materials.
Building on this achievement, the School will take the awards as an opportunity to further deepen educational reform during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, strengthen the refinement, dissemination, and application of exemplary teaching成果, and fully leverage their demonstrative and leading role. The School remains committed to enhancing its capacity for independent talent cultivation and contributing to the high-quality development of higher education.
