To continuously deepen the reform of classroom teaching, promote the professional development of teachers and improve the quality of classroom teaching, on the afternoon of October 9th, the School of Materials Science and Engineering held the seventh Teacher Development Coffee Talk. The theme of this issue is Activating the Classroom · Honing Craftsmanship - Teaching Innovation and Practice of Materials-related Courses, and Associate Professor Zhen Yuhua from China University of Petroleum (East China) is invited to give a special presentation. Du Junhua, the Party Secretary of the college, attended the event, which was presided over by Wang Huanlei, the Vice Dean.
Taking the national first-class course Materials Physics as an example, Zhen Yuhua systematically explained from aspects such as the course construction process, innovation in teaching content, reform of teaching methods, and refinement of teaching achievements. She focused on sharing the innovative practices and experiences of course construction from three dimensions: uncovering professional stories, composing team stories, and interpreting personal stories. She also demonstrated how to further establish the concept of student-centeredness around the innovative paths of effective classroom interaction and participatory teaching, stimulate students' interest in learning, enhance classroom participation, and achieve educational goals. Teacher Zhen's lecture was rich in content and vivid in cases. It not only had theoretical height but also practical depth, winning wide resonance among the teachers present. Teachers attending the meeting all expressed that from the course design to the specific methods of classroom interaction, they all provided new inspirations and references for their own teaching.
Du Junhua expressed his gratitude to Teacher Zhen for the valuable experience she brought in course construction and teaching reform. She pointed out that the college will continue to build a platform for teachers to exchange and learn, encourage teachers to constantly explore innovative teaching paths, create classroom teaching art, and continuously improve the level of nurturing students.
Since its launch, the Teacher Development Coffee Talk of the college has become an important carrier for the college to enhance teachers' teaching ability, exchange teaching experience and promote teachers' professional development.
